“The Deep” Storyboard for Starwood/Sheraton
Art director Gus Johnston from Venables/Bell wanted a mysterious feel to the front end of this Sheraton commercial. After discussing ideas for the best way to show it, I settled on a deep, vibrant blue color that would give the feeling of being underwater in a vast ocean. The visual effect contrasts nicely with the reveal at the end of the spot. The man was actually just swimming down to the bottom of a hotel pool.
